Emer’s Ghost :: Essays Papers

Emer’s Ghost For this month’s book report I read a book called ‘Emer’s Ghost’ by Catherine Sefton. This book was about a young lady named Emer who lives in Northern Ireland. She realizes a man named Mr.Bannon who has a hidey-opening where he keeps things, and it is an extremely mystery place. Emer finds a wooden doll that is old and worn, and saw that there was something abnormal about the doll when she got it. That night when she rested, she got up just to discover an apparition of a little youngster. Emer was terrified however she needed to support the young lady. The young lady vanished and when Emer attempted to disclose to her sister, Breige, she just chuckled and ridiculed Emer. Something very similar happened a couple of days after the fact. Emer’s other sister, Kathleen, needed to go to the crystal gazer, so Emer obliged her. At the point when they showed up the spiritualist initially disclosed to Kathleen’s future. At that point when she got the o pportunity to tell Emer’s, all the crystal gazer did was to investigate Emer’s eyes for quite a while. At that point the soothsayer gave Emer a drawing and inquired as to whether it looked recognizable. As of now Emer had never observed it, so the crystal gazer advised all her it. Later on in the book, Emer sees the drawing on the window and marvels what it implies. Kathleen’s companion was burrowing around a congregation that had been torched quite a while prior by the Vikings when they were searching for a cup. At long last Emer sees the phantom again and sees the drawing. She at last recognized what the drawing implied; it was a guide of the hidey-opening! Emer and Breige go into the hidey opening and find that the divider was the place the top of the hidey-gap had collapsed. Emer and Breige quickly burrowed through the stones and crept through to the opposite side, and afterward the divider fallen. Emer was stifling and thought she was going to pass on, yet she had the option to slither out of the gap. She at that point understood that Breige was still in there, so she proceeded to uncover Breige, however Breige wasn’t relaxing! At long last Breige began breathing and Emer found the goblet. The entirety of the town was upbeat and the phantom never disturbed Emer again.
